We are always working hard in Kindergarten!

It was a fitting start to Spring Break: first grade released their painted lady butterflies! The butterflies were sent off with a prayer of blessing and with cheers from students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. We are grateful to God for the wonder of creation!

Today, the kindergarteners, 2nd graders, and 5th graders were able to listen to the author, Victoria Nelson read her new book “Hiya Moriah”.

Nothing like Monday math games in Kindergarten!

Come on over to the Reading Ranch - Bethany’s Book Fair Fundraiser, now through Thursday, March 28. Open before and after school and recess and lunch. Located in the Ministry Center Gym. Books and other items provided by Mrs. Nelsen’s Book Fair Company.

Another first grade update: Metamorphosis is amazing! When we arrived at school this morning, we could see the butterflies’ wings through the thin chrysalis walls. Within an hour, two more butterflies emerged! We are filled with wonder as we watch Creation in action. God is too marvelous for words!

Fifth grade patriots enjoy colonial crafts and games.

Bethany Christian eighth graders find the fun in physics at Knott’s Berry Farm.

When you finish your math work early in 3rd grade, you get to play math games! These students are playing multiplication war, a math board game, and making up problems for friends to solve.

Mrs. Anghelina is always finding fun ways to engage with the students in the afternoons.

Learning addition in Kindergarten!

Update from first grade: one butterfly has emerged from its chrysalis! Our class is excited to welcome this painted lady butterfly into the world!

Pi Day highlights: dental health with Dr. Shannon Lazarian. Dr. Lazarian demonstrated proper brushing and flossing techniques and explained why dental care is important. Students received new toothbrushes and flossers and got to practice brushing with an awesome tooth brushing app!

Pi Day highlights: learning from horse veterinarian, Dr. Ryan Carpenter. Dr. Carpenter taught students about horse surgery, setting fractured horse bones, and helping horses breathe better for their races. Students looked like young horse vets at the end of this session, wearing all the gifts Dr. Carpenter gave!

Pi Day highlights: “Seeing God in Health Science” with Mrs. Breanne Shaw, R.N. Mrs. Shaw shared her interest in the health sciences, her calling to serve others through nursing, and Bible passages about health and the body. She also showed students tools of her trade, taking student blood pressure readings and demonstrating an ultrasound machine.

Pi Day highlights: circle art with Mrs. Tracy Watson, our art teacher. Mrs. Watson provided circles of all sizes for students to trace, overlap, and design with.

The BCS Girls Varsity Basketball team will be playing La Canada Prep on Friday 3/15 at 3:15 in the gym at Bethany Christian School. Come on over and show your support. These girls play hard!
